The HeadtoHeart inaugural gala evening was a massive success and thank you to everyone who participated. Guests were able to enjoy an evening of glitz and glamour. We transformed the school hall to host a star-studded evening of entertainment and fundraising. The evening was hosted by TV personality and singer Shan Cothi and presenter Rhydian Bowen Phillips. The evening of entertainment included performances from current and former Glantaf pupils, Llandaff Cathderal School Choir and the Debbie Chapman Dancers. The audience were later entertained by star of the West End’s Wizard of Oz, Sophie Evans and an exclusive performance by Only Men Aloud left guests on their feet demanding an encore, which the choir were only too happy to oblige.
A special video message was sent by our Ambassador – Hollywood actor and former Glantaf pupil- Matthew Rhys who sent his congratulations to us and wished everyone well for the evening.
After an evening of good food, wine and entertainment, we held our raffle and silent auction, and with the help of TV presenter Arfon Haines Davies, invited guests to bid for some amazing items in our live auction.
In reminding everyone of the reason behind our fund raising, for a few moments, we shared with our guests, a couple of our personal experiences and motivation as to why we want to raise such large sums of money to help people who have serious health problems. We reminded people that it is Rory and Alaw and their courage over the years that has inspired us to undertake this commitment. The most poignant moment for us and our families was when the audience gave Rory and Alaw a totally spontaneous and unexpected ovation.
We have so enjoyed this fund raising and feel proud and privileged to be part of this amazing community. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it such an enjoyable and successful evening.

Thank you for a fantastic Gala Evening! The celebrities were brilliant but I was impressed by the quality and talent of everyone performing. Well done to all involved and I hope you’re well on your way to the target!

Congratulations to you both on the recent Gala Evening and charity auction held here at the school. It was a wonderful event with a star-studded cast of entertainers, fine food and excellent company. For me, however, the highlight of the evening was the combination of pride and admiration I felt as I witnessed you both addressing the audience and explaining the importance and background of your charitable work. Both of you were a credit to your families and to Glantaf. I congratulate all those involved in achieving the ambitious targets that you have set.
