As of March 1st 2012, we have raised over £38,000 and have been able to purchase the cardiac imaging vault for the Children’s Heart Unit for Wales and a RT300 functional electrical stimulation bike for the Neurosciences Specialist Rehabilitation Unit. This bike can be used directly from a wheelchair and enables paralyzed muscles to be used. We are negotiating with the medical unit as to how the remainding funds can be best used.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED US SO FAR. WE ARE STILL WELCOMING DONATIONS, PLEASE SEE THE ABOVE ‘HOW TO DONATE’ TAB FOR DETAILS!
WELCOME TO OUR CHARITY AND WEBSITE – CROESO
Our names are Cian Wade and Osian Davies and we have founded the HeadtoHeart charity because we believe that we and the community can help to make a real difference to young peoples’ lives throughout Wales. We have founded HeadtoHeart because we wish to raise a significant sum of money for the Children’s Heart Unit for Wales and the Neurosciences Specialist rehabilitation Service.
Our aim is to help people who have serious health problems and we need you to help us make a difference. We both have a sibling who has been seriously ill and has required life saving treatments. We now want to say thank-you to the doctors and nurses who have made a real difference to Alaw and Rory – aka Oshie (pictured above) and to our families. Without the units’ tireless work and commitment, neither Alaw nor Rory would be alive toady or have the quality of life they currently have.
We are both pupils in the sixth form of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, a welsh medium school in Llandaff North, Cardiff. Over the past couple of years in particular, the school has been incredibly supportive of us, Rory and Alaw and our families and we thought it would be a great idea to try and bring together these communities that have been so important to us. We want to celebrate, say thank-you and raise a lot of money to purchase some much needed equipment for these units, so that other individuals who are unwell can benefit. We therefore plan to involve our school, all the pupils and parents and our wider community in some very exciting, enjoyable and major events. With your support and the schools support we are hoping to raise £40 000 for these amazing units. We are passionate about this venture and we would love you to help us show these units the support they have shown our families through some very difficult times.

Good idea, Cian! I’m sure this will take off easily with the help of Ysgol Gyfun Cymraeg Glantaf.
Great cause – I raised some money busking in the city centre and have donated £25 to help your fundraising. Good luck!

Pob lwc i’r ddwy fenter yr wythnos hon, Cian ac Osian. Mae eich gwaith caled a’ch dyfalbarhâd i’w edmygu’n fawr iawn, a hynny yn ystod cyfnod prysur iawn yn yr ysgol. Rwy’n hyderus y bydd y ddau ddigwyddiad yn llwyddiant ysgubol, ac yn llwyddo i godi swm sylweddol tuag at yr achos.
Da iawn Bechgyn!
